Athletic Training Program

The sports medicine program at Legacy is an integral part of our involvement in the community. Legacy provides Certified/Licensed Athletic Trainers to Sarasota County Public High Schools and Manatee County Public High Schools. Our Certified/Licensed Athletic Trainers have worked with a variety of athletes from the professional athlete to the recreational athlete. Our program consists of:

Certified/Licensed Athletic Trainers (ATC, LAT)

Our Athletic Trainers are certified and licensed in the state of Florida. Three of which have obtained certification as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialists. They work within local high schools in Sarasota & Manatee Counties. Some of their responsibilities include:

Daily athletic training room coverage
Daily practice coverage
Coverage of all home and away varsity football contests
Coverage of all home sporting contests
Care and prevention of injuries
Injury evaluation
Injury rehabilitation
Recording of injuries
Order equipment and supplies for the training room
Assist the coaches in all areas to help minimize the risk of injury
Act as the liaison between the student athlete and parents with the physician
